602 North started as a number on a house — a 1906 showplace in Lake Norman, NC that we spent years restoring into something worth keeping. We said they'd have to carry us out before we'd ever leave. Then our first grandchild was born four hours away. The address stuck. The name traveled with us. It became a way of seeing the world — choosing the long way when you have the time, stopping when something looks interesting, arriving a little later and a little richer for it.
The fastest route isn't always the best one. Speed is a habit. Stillness is a choice.
Leave room in the plan for the unplanned. The best stories start with a wrong turn.
